We Are Gearing Up for Bay State Bike Month. Are you?

Get ready to hit the road this September with our bicycle enthusiasts

The bicycle attorneys at Jeffrey Glassman Injury Lawyers are gearing up for Bay State Bike Month this September and would love for you to join us. Let’s do this, Boston!

The event’s bicycle-centric events take place across the great state of Massachusetts and are designed to bring out new riders and shine a spotlight on the benefits of bicycling for transportation, fitness, and fun.

Bay State Bike Month’s premier event, the MassCommute Bicycle Challenge, will be held from September 19th through the 26th..  The Challenge, which is in its 27th year, reaches 300,000 employees from more than 300 organizations. Individual and team participants can get in on the friendly competition and win prizes by logging bicycle miles and trips.

Despite a global pandemic, 113 people participated in MCBC in 2020, making 1,814 trips, biking 16,767 miles, saving $9,500 and preventing 6.5 tons of carbon dioxide from being dispersed into the atmosphere.  The top team winners were REI Boston, Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Harvard University.

MassBike is hosting monthly bicycle challenges to help bicyclists prepare for this year’s Bay State Bike Month. June’s event is a Bike to Parks challenge in which folks are encouraged to visit a park using a bicycle.

Another way to get involved is by pitching a theme for this Bay State Bike Month 2021. Last year’s theme—“Ride your way, every day!”—encouraged bicyclists to show off the different ways they ride. The winner will score some cool MassBike swag, and the winning slogan will appear on Bay State Bike Month materials, including the always popular commemorative T-shirt. You can read more about the contest here. Don’t delay. Tagline ideas must be submitted to bikeinfo@massbike.org by June 20.
